Alphatron Marine appoints new leader
Bart Brom will become the new Alphatron CEO from 1 January 2018

Alphatron Marine will drive forward its global expansion and joint ventures under new leadership from January 2018. Bart Brom, the current director and business unit manager for marine and offshore at Eekels Technology, will take over the chief executive role from Alphatron co-founder Luuk Vroombout.

Mr Brom, 55, will join Alphatron on 1 September to understand the chief executive role before taking that on full-time from 1 January 2018. Mr Vroombout, 64, will remain involved in the company as president and co-director to continue his engagement in the company’s strategy, product development and branding.

Alphatron will further expand and develop as a global provider of vessel bridge systems, electronics and communications. It will strengthen its collaboration with Japan Radio Co (JRC) and partnerships such as with Transas.

Alphatron supplies integrated bridge solutions using major industry brands, such as JRC and Transas and manufactures complementary products to the JRC portfolio. It has centres of excellence in Tokyo, Japan, Singapore, Houston, USA and Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Over the last two years, Alphatron has developed a series of integrated bridge systems for ships, patrol vessels and tugs.
